So, I’ve been seeing this Muxtape deal floating around the internets more & more these days. From what I can tell, it looks like a hipster playlist site (seems to be lots of Pitchforky indie scenester fare). I can imagine how people end up spending way too much time hopping around different playlists — I just listened to a Lincoln track that I haven’t heard in years!
Perhaps this will be a simpler way to keep up to date with my mixtapes. Perhaps.
Well, in any case, join in the mixtapological fun at headsparks.muxtape.com!
Am I missing something with all this love for muxtape?
muxtape is just imeem.com except:
* there’s a 10Mb limit on track sizes
* there’s a 12 track limit on mixes
* it’s 2 years late
muxtape is only interesting if you’ve somehow managed to miss imeem.com doing its ‘youtube for music’ impoersonation for the past couple of years.
Stan — Thanks for stopping by. I readily admit that I am woefully behind the times. Because I’m not particularly cutting-edge with most things interwebs, I usually only check out things passed along by friends and acquaintances — in this case, none have been a part of imeem (although I have seen it mentioned here and there) but a few have created muxtapes.

I noticed the muxtape limitations as well. If I were to hazard a guess, though, I would imagine that the 12 track limit and 10mb per song limit goes toward the simplicity they’re trying to convey with their layout (and, I’m sure, easing the workload of their site). But, then again, who really knows? In any case, thanks for the info about imeem — I’ll try to check them out.
