Rich -- You're making me feel like I'm in some kind of ABC after school special, or "a very special episode" of like Family Ties or something... I need to resist your negative peer pressure! And yet, I want to give in!!

Re: the Google phone, I guess we shouldn't be surprised at its ugliness. For all of the slick simplicity of Google's apps, their aesthetics have always been lacking. Very blocky and generally unattractive in the design arena...

Rich -- Man, that story makes me sad. When I look at our daughters, I think how little things have changed and how desperately I want to equip them to see themselves as beautiful Asian American girls made in the image of God -- filled with strength and grace.

Don't count on me getting an iPhone anytime soon. Unless I win the lottery, in which case I'll totally buy you one too! The Google phone is kind of a disappointment to me -- the features seem great (free Google apps, open source, 3 megapixel camera, etc.) but it's plain ugly. And it's on T-Mobile. Hmm....

i once knew a guy who spoke english fluently but pretended not to when a police officer pulled him over for speeding. he thought he could get out of the ticket if the police officer thought he was a foreigner. i totally lost any respect i had for this person when he told me this.

lately, i haven't received a lot of comments about how well i speak english, but i know that it will really never end. hopefully our daughters won't have to deal with it when they're older, but i wouldn't bet on it.

let me know if you're getting an iphone. i can't afford one, but i REALLY want one. have you seen the google phone?
