When I was confirmed, the minister warned me "The church is just like the world." And so it has proved. Just as in offices and colleges, there are bad communications, misunderstandings, boring people, clinging people, the power-hungry who want to run everything, and those who skirt the edges and will not commit, as well as personality clashes. Sometimes it is a job to remember Who it is Who has called us all together. When I was discouraged, I luckily (or was it more than luck?) came across Mother Theresa's "Do it anyway" prayer.
